Happy New Year to all of us. 2009 is a beautiful year. New President, New opportunities. I've got some health tips for the full figured women out there. Honest tips from my heart that work for me.
If you are trying to speed up your metabolism, the way to keep that going or to start your body on this cycle, is to eat within the first hours of waking up. They always say breakfast is the most important meal of the day. This is very true. Oatmeal is very good, cereal, something with some carbs, fibers, this starts you off great!
Then in about an hour and a half, a granola bar, or fruit, something small. This will cause your body to start working again burning the fat. Have lunch, a good sized meal. Then another hour and half to 2 hours, have another small snack. The next meal is Dinner. Always have some vegetables, those are the best thing for your body. Steamed is excellent.
Working out, not always fun, but you can make it fun. It's all in the mind, have your music, it's seriously what keeps you going. Cardio is best. If you want to tone and lose at the same time, do weights, then cardio. A nice 5 minute warm up gets your body going on any machine of your choice. Pick a different body part to work on each day. Cardio is most important after weights because while you are lifting weights, your body is warming up and burning fat..less weight and more repetitions for lean muscle. By the time you are finished lifting your body will be in practically burn all fat modes. So at least 30 minutes after weights.
Stair-stepper is wonderful. Treadmill is good, but for us heavier women the elliptical will make you harder and easier on the joints. After cardio, rest a few minutes and step into the sauna.
