Meet a true inspiration in the plus size modeling industry...Shadee Livingston aka Chyna Doll. Chyna has many rolls in the industry and is taking no prisoners along the way as she continues to show us that she is a true pioneer. Ambitious, talented, and gorgeous are just a few words that describe her.

How is the plus size modeling scene in Atlanta?
It’ AWESOME!!! Get’s better every year, however I do predict that 2010 will be a big year and not just for Atlanta, but for the plus size industry period.
When did you realize you wanted to pursue modeling?
Well I had been approached so many times that when a opportunity presented itself I decided to go for it, and I have been doing it every since…I love it!!!
In your opinion, what is the best and worst thing about the industry?
To me the best is when you’re working with positive people and when you’re respected for your craft that you’ve worked so hard. It’s a great feeling to be appreciated. The worst is when people don’t appreciate it and when they are so negative about the plus size community.
Who is your favorite designer?
Wow, I have several…Jibri, Korto Momolu and Monif C just to name a few.
How do you think Size is Sexy will impact the industry?
I think it will impact the plus size community in a major way, we are doing big things in ways that no one has ever done them before. I’m very excited and can’t wait to make history.
Is there any person in the modeling world that has influenced you?
People influence me every day John Larney, Bev Wilson (Project Curve Appeal) and Yolanda Zellous (Zellyo Productions), Sommer Johnson (Gemini Magazine). My Curve Appeal, Pink City and SiS sisters who stay true to the industry by working hard. Also, my fans that I hear from that tell me how I inspire them and make them feel good and confident about themselves. I hear their stories and it makes me feel good, it inspires me to want to do more.
What is the current state of the plus size modeling industry in your opinion?
I think it’s on a whole new level. I’m noticing more companies are using plus size models in their advertising campaigns. The Media is reporting more about the plus size industry and that is bringing much need attention to such an over looked part of modeling. Like I stated earlier, 2010 is going to be the big year, truly a positive and much needed growth.
What can we expect from Chyna in 2010?
Well let’s see I have some great things going on in 2010. I will be working with S.i.S. and I know it’s going to be AMAZING! We have some great things in the making so stay tuned. I also will be working with Curve Appeal on some great projects and also with Yolanda Zellous of Big Boned women’s fashion. Taj and I will be working on a film this year with TMiles Fims called “You, Me and He”. Taj and I are also currently working on doing a reality show so be on the lookout for that.
What do you like to do in your spare time?
I love spending time with my son and hanging with the girls. Comedy shows, going to the movies, plays, spoken word bowling, shoot pool. I also love watching Football & Basketball.
If you could vacation anywhere in the world, where would you go?
I have a few spots, Paris for fashion, Africa to learn more about my heritage and San Tropez for some fun in the sun…lol.
As far as relationships go, has your voluptuous figure ever worked for you or against you in anyway?
I am who I am, what you see is what you get. You either love it or don’t; Small voluptuous, tall or short doesn’t define me as a woman. If a man doesn’t like me because of my size he’s not a man I would want to be with. I want a man that appreciates my beauty on the on the outside as well as the inside.
What is in your CD player right now?
Well since I have a 5 disc changer…lol…Sade, Anita baker, TI, Usher and Drake
Favorite color?
RED
If you won the lottery for $5 million dollars what would you do?
Start a business, invest, and give to numerous charities.
What would you consider to be the most important part of your life?
Motherhood, being the best mother that I can possibly be. Being responsible for my son while trying to instill values and morals in him so he can become a productive member of society. In this day and age it’s very hard, but you have to be strong and have faith and put your trust in God because through him all thingsare possible.
